Signed by Paul Cook who began race riding in 1963. He rode winners in 11 countries & his 1000 Guineas victory in 1966 for Vincent O’Brien on Glad Rags & the 1982 St Leger on Tom Jones’ Touching Wood rate as his favourite wins. Cook also won the 1988 King Edward VII Stakes (Pretendre), the 1976 Prix De L’Abbaye (Gentilhombre), three Stewards Cups, two Chester Cups & two Ebors. While overseas he won the Calcutta Derby & the German & Norwegian Oaks. He rode his first winner for the Queen in 1969 & retired in 1988 after a bad race fall.
