Royal Mail has joined forces with The Greeting Card Association to launch a special postmark to highlight the emotional power of sending and receiving greeting cards.
‘Thinking of You’ Week is a positive campaign that aims to encourage people to spread love, caring and happiness across the nation by sending a card a day during the last week in September.
The postmark will say ‘Thinking of You Week, Sending Cards Raises Smiles!’
Royal Mail’s postmarks are reserved for special occasions and are used to recognise significant events and historical anniversaries, to support a charity.
Andrew Hammond, Director of Stamps & Collectibles at Royal Mail, said: “So much joy and pleasure comes from sending and receiving cards in the post. It is a feeling that emails and texts can’t replicate so we are more than happy to support this great campaign.”
Sharon Little Greeting Cards Association CEO, said: “Receiving a handwritten card out of the blue makes people feel far more special than receiving texts or emails. It’s a positive boost that lasts.”
