An illustrated cover was produced sponsored by the Manx Philatelic Society which together with a 3p Manx stamp serviced cost 20p. Unserviced the cover cost 10p All profits went to the RNLI.
There was a special post box at the Sea Terminal Douglas where items posted would receive the special handstamp
