The covers were taken from Hendon to RAF Northolt where they were then flown to Villacoublay, Paris in a Pembroke XK703, Special Flight No. 5058.

British Forces Post Office 1075 was set up on the plane to cancel the covers whilst in flight. The aircraft Captain was Squadron Leader I Semple.
