Description

An illustrated cover was produced by the Philatelic Bureau Edinburgh  which cost 3.5p and could be obtained  from Philatelic counters and the Philatelic Bureau at Edinburgh

The cover serviced  by the Philatelic Bureau at Edinburgh with 4 Regional stamps  cost 25.5p each  or 50 or more covers at 23p each.

If a customer sent their own cover in  for the special handstamp the four regional stamps will be applied and the cost was 19.5p

The illustrated covers were withdrawn from sale at close of business on 24th June 1974

The cachet on the front of the cover – C S Mercury Plymouth Official No 304813 , Gross Tonnage 8961.99 , Nett Tonnage 3333.5.  Mercury was the Cable Ship
