Forces Air Letter
There was a special postbox at BFPO 49 where items posted would receive the special Handstamp. Items for re-posting needed to be sent to The Philatelic Officer 115 Postal and Courier Communications Unit RE BFPO 26.
An illustrated cover was produced by the Royal Marines Museum with this special handstamp being used on the first cover of the new series depicting events in the History of the Royal Marines. The cover showed a colour action picture depicting the uniform of the time.
Covers were carried on board the Royal Iris during the mid-river Service of remembrance of Zeebrugge. It was planned that the covers would also be carried in a RM Helicopter.
An ordinary cover serviced cost 25p, with a Belgian cancellation 30p, signed by carrier 50p and signed by two veterans from the Battle £1
