Description
This was the new Scottish pictorial air letter commemorating the birth of Burns and came in to use on 13 January 1975.
The air letter cost 7p with a postage value of 6p.
The air letter was designed by Fraser Haston and features a portrait of Burns on the front and the mouse ( tim’rous beastie) on the back.
The air letter was printed by McCorquodale and Co Ltd.
There were special handstamps for the first day of sale and then on the 25th January , the birth date of Burns
