The Queen’s Birthday Parade – Trooping The Colour 2018
2018 marks the 15th Trooping The Colour for 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards since 1893. This year also sees the ‘Lilywhites’, as they are known, commemorate the bravery and the winning of Victoria Crosses (VCs) by Captain C.H. Frisby and LCpl T.N. Jackson at the Battle of Canal du Nord on the 27 September 1918.
To commemorate these two events BFPS, in collaboration with the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, will publish a commemorative cover on the 9th June 2018. Profits after production costs will be donated to the Household Division Charity.
The cover bears images of the two recipients of the VCs above those of the Battalion on parade at previous Trooping the Colour ceremonies. A first-class stamp will be cancelled by the BFPS 3216 bespoke handstamp which bears the Regimental capstar of the Coldstream Guards.
There will be 3 versions of the commemorative cover:
- Standard unsigned at £6 each.
- Limited Edition signed by the Commanding Officer 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards at £12 each.
- Limited Edition signed by the Captain of The Escort of the Colour at £12 each.
Each of these covers will have an A4 information insert and both of these will be presented in a protective cellophane slip making a highly collectable memento of this year’s Trooping the Colour ceremony.
