High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) Zephyr S Solar electric Stratospheric UAV BFPS 3231

Category:

Description

After taking off on 11th July 2018 in Arizona, the Zephyr S unmanned aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space logged a maiden stratospheric flight of over 25 days – the longest-duration flight ever made without refuelling. Following this flight, the UK Ministry of Defence ordered three of these systems.

Sheets of specially designed Royal Mail personal smiler stamps were flown aboard Zephyr S to mark this historic flight and have been used to service commemorative covers ordered by the Defence company. The stamps will be cancelled by a BFPS special handstamp bearing the unique BFPS number 3231 and dated 20 November 2020

Fifty of these covers only, along with a very limited amount of the stratospherically flown stamp sheets, have been made available to BFPS for sale. These superb looking covers will cost just £10 each.

A very limited amount of the bespoke stratospherically flown Royal Mail Smiler stamps used on these covers will be available to order in full sheets (of 20) at £45 per sheet.
