Description

Commemorating 40 years Since the Liberation of the Falkland Islands
On the 14th of June 1982 following 74 days of intense fighting British Armed Forces freed the Falkland Islands from Argentinian occupation. This day became known as ‘Liberation Day’ and is celebrated each year by the Islanders. 2022 sees the 40th Anniversary of the Liberation and to mark this BFPS will be publishing a commemorative cover to be issued on the 14th of June 2022.

The Falkland Islands have commissioned a special logo for their celebrations this year and they have kindly given BFPS permission to use the logo on the commemorative cover. A bespoke special handstamp bearing the BFPS 3239 serial number will be used to cancel a 1st class commemorative stamp.

Two versions of the cover will be available:

• Standard unsigned version (£8).
• Numbered limited edition of just 74 (£16) signed by former RAF and Royal Navy pilot David Morgan who flew Harriers during the Falklands War.

Will be available shortly to order from the BFPS website  www.bfps.org.uk
