The postmark is to commemorate the 21st Anniversary of The Wallasey Philatelic Society.
On the 20th November an anniversary dinner was held and from 23rd to 30 November there was an exhibition at the Central ( Earlston) Library Wallasey which was officially opened by the Mayor of Wallasey. The theme of the exhibition was The Scope and History of Philately.
