1 (Supply) Squadron celebrates its 150th Anniversary

In February 2020 1 (Supply) Squadron RLC celebrates 150 years since its formation in 1870. To survive the last century and a half the squadron has filled many varied roles as well as changing the organisations within which it served. Its roots were formed from the famous ‘Military Train’ of the Army Service Corps. To mark this long and fruitful life, the Squadron has commissioned a commemorative cover to be published on the 15th February 2020.

The colourful theme of the cover depicts three important changes of organisations by the Squadron during its long history – Army Service Corps, Royal Corps of Transport and The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment. A first-class Royal Mail definitive stamp will be cancelled by the bespoke BFPS 3226 special handstamp.

All covers include an A4 double-sided information insert and will be presented in a protective cellophane sleeve making a very collectable souvenir of this important anniversary.

The Officer Commanding of the Squadron has very kindly made available some of these covers to BFPS for sale from the BFPS online shop. Versions of the cover will include a standard unsigned cover at £7.50 each and a signed cover costing £15 each. 150 limited edition of the signed covers produced
