This postmark celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the opening of the Swindon Railway works in 1843 and the Open day on 31st August
The postmark depicts a D1000 diesal locomotive
The illustrated cover depicts the early 2-2-2 locomotive Great Western which had been built at the works.
