Description

An illustrated cover was issued by the Wallasey Postal Society as part of their Silver Jubilee celebrations where the main theme was the 10th Anniversary of the world’s first hovercraft service.

The special handstamp incorporates an illustration of Hovercraft V A – 3 used on the service. A photograph of this hovercraft was on the filler card for the illustrated cover.

A serviced cover cost 10p.

There was a special post box at the New Brighton Baptist Church Hall 217 Seabank Wallasey L45 1HE where items posted would receive the special handstamp
